Overview

Our Client is committed to building safer, stronger, and more resilient communities. As an Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Project Officer, you will play a key role in tackling anti-social behaviour across the borough, working with residents, partner agencies, and internal teams to deliver effective interventions and long-term solutions.

You will manage a caseload of ASB complaints, investigate incidents, and develop tailored action plans. The role requires balancing enforcement with preventative work, ensuring residents feel safe and supported while helping to reduce repeat incidents and promote positive community cohesion.

Key Responsibilities

* Act as the first point of contact for ASB reports, ensuring timely and effective case management.
* Investigate complaints, gathering evidence through interviews, statements, and partnership intelligence.
* Develop and implement case action plans using a problem-solving approach.
* Apply legal and non-legal tools (e.g. warnings, Acceptable Behaviour Contracts, Community Protection Notices, injunctions) in line with legislation and council policy.
* Work closely with police, housing providers, social care, youth services, and community groups on joint interventions.
* Provide support to victims and witnesses, keeping them informed throughout the process.
* Contribute to community safety projects and campaigns focused on prevention and early intervention.
* Maintain accurate case records and prepare reports for management, legal proceedings, or committees.
* Monitor and analyse ASB trends to inform service improvements and strategic priorities.
* Represent the council at multi-agency meetings, case conferences, and court hearings where required.

About You

We are seeking someone passionate about making a difference in local communities, with the ability to balance empathy and assertiveness.

Essential skills & experience:

* Experience in community safety, housing, enforcement, or a similar environment.
* Knowledge of ASB legislation, enforcement tools, and best practice approaches.
* Strong case management and investigative skills.
* Ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including vulnerable residents, in challenging situations.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills.
* Ability to work independently, prioritise workload, and meet deadlines.
* Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive service delivery.

Desirable

* Experience working in a local authority or partnership setting.
* Understanding of safeguarding principles and procedures.
* Knowledge of communities and their challenges.
