Teaching Assistant

We are currently seeking a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Burnley. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils across the school, including providing 1:1 support for children who may require additional help with their learning or development.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support learning in the classroom while also delivering targeted 1:1 interventions when required. You will play an important role in helping pupils feel confident, supported and engaged in their education.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities
Working with small groups or individual pupils to reinforce learning
Providing 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs at times
Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
Promoting positive behaviour and supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing
Helping to create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
Supervising pupils during breaktimes or school activities when required
The Ideal Candidate
Has previous experience working with children (school-based experience preferred)
Is patient, nurturing and adaptable
Has strong communication and teamwork skills
Is confident supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Holds (or is willing to obtain) a valid DBS on the update service

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
