The Operations Manager is an integral role in the DVSA Corporate Senior Leadership Team, responsible for the national delivery of operational services to meet customer expectations.

The post holder will lead operations delivery teams of 250-300 staff through supporting managers, ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery, value for money, and safety outcomes.

They will ensure effective planning, staff compliance with standards, and operational process management, directly impacting road safety.

The role involves developing and improving business processes, managing performance, talent development, and liaising with policy colleagues to support business improvements.

Your responsibilities include:

* Providing leadership, influence, and guidance to staff to support objectives, maintaining integrity and upholding the organization’s reputation.
* Leading vehicle testing operations across a regional network, ensuring quality and consistency.
* Ensuring network delivery meets standards, quality, service levels, and targets.
* Fostering effective communication and engagement within teams.
* Developing operational plans to deliver high-quality, cost-effective services.
* Driving improvements based on QA and audits, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
* Collaborating with strategic partners to develop business plans in response to changing priorities.
* Acting as a liaison for specific services, providing operational expertise and legislative updates.
* Coordinating with internal departments to meet customer needs and communicate requirements.
