Due to rapid growth, the McDermott Group is looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support the finance team across multiple companies. The ideal candidate will assist with the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in managing accounts payable, receivables, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Overview of the Role
* Accounts Assistant
* £25,400.00 - £27,000.00 DOE
* Holidays: 30 days. Additional days per year of service, maximum of 5. Buy back scheme of additional 5 days

Responsibilities
* Ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered to
* Manage accounts payable and receivable across multiple business entities
* Process invoices, payments, and bank reconciliations
* Assist with VAT returns and month-end reporting
* Maintain accurate financial records and support audits
* Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations
* Assist with ad-hoc finance tasks and process improvements
Essential Skills
* Experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably in a multi-company environment
* Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial processes
* Proficiency in accounting software (experience in Sage 200 would be advantageous but not essential) and Microsoft Excel
* Excellent attention to detail, organisational, and time-management skills
* AAT qualification (or working towards) preferred
