Domestic services staff work across all areas of the NHS, making sure that all areas are clean and safe places where staff can care for patients while reducing the risk of infection.
Responsibilities and Requirements
* Be physically fit
* Follow instructions and procedures
* Pay attention to detail
* Work as part of a team and take responsibility for your own work
* Be able to work unsupervised
* Have organisational and teamwork skills
* Clean wards, theatres, and other clinical areas
* Wear PPE (provided)
* Use customer‑service skills to help make patients' hospital visits more pleasant
* Be aware of hygiene issues
* Be discrete and respect patients' rights to privacy and dignity
* Approach work quickly and meticulously with a pleasant manner
* Be hardworking, reliable, flexible, and a good team player
* Previous experience as a domestic or cleaner is a plus
No qualifications are needed to be a domestic assistant, but you need to be aware of hygiene issues, be discrete, be able to respect patients' rights to privacy and dignity, have a pleasant manner and work quickly and meticulously.
