Job Description:
Reporting to the Director for Business Operations in Housing and Residence Life, and serving as a mid-level professional in Housing & Residence Life, the Campus Housing Manager at the Medical Campus Apartments at Old Dominion University (MCA) is responsible for planning and management of the day-to-day operations of our 82-unit medical campus apartment community. The selected candidate will foster effective and harmonious resident relations by providing a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for students to live. The position is responsible for meeting financial objectives, serves as a primary problem solver in day-to-day student and family concerns, protects the value and integrity of the community, and is responsive to all applicable regulatory codes and standards. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications:
1. Working knowledge of student housing management systems, such as StarRez, Buildium or similar.
2. Working knowledge of student card center systems, such as CS Gold or similar.
3. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and statistical analysis.
4. Sound judgement, analytical skills.
5. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects.
6. Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
7. Ability to envision and implement change.
8. Ability to meet deadlines.
9. Ability to understand collection, documentation and charges related to apartment processes.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with culturally diverse students, while delivering excellent customer service at all times
11. Ability to work well with staff, university administrators, and external constituencies including parents.
12. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
