Customer Delivery Driver - Leicester Hamilton Extra
Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 an hour; this increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
Its our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if youd like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you.
The role includes flexible availability windows. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times, and youll have 3 weeks notice of exactly when your shifts will be. We are happy to support flexibility for our colleagues, therefore if the times you are available to work match closely but not exactly to the times we are advertising, wed still love to hear from you.

As the face of Tesco on the road, we deliver across a wide area. Our Customer Delivery Drivers get the opportunity to meet and talk to customers in their homes every day. This role is about more than just driving: it’s about helping others and delivering great service with a smile. It’s hands-on, physical and full of variety. No two shifts are the same, and while you’ll feel like your own boss most of the day, there is always a team of Managers and colleagues back at base ready to support you when you need them. Responsibilities
* Delivering your part of our customer shopping trip by ensuring the van and trays are clean and tidy.
* Leaving the back yard clean and free of rubbish; picking up litter as needed.
* Ensuring trays are washed as part of the tray wash process.
* Loading the van as required and checking the van for roadworthiness.
* Communicating with customers about changes to their order, including substitutions, and offering refunds for any issues.
* Taking care of products/deliveries as if they were your own.
* Explaining substitutions to customers and that they will not be charged extra for them.
* Delivering within the customer’s time slot.
* Calling the customer before arriving if early and calling the store if running 30 minutes or more late.
You will need
* Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit and support store excellence.
* Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues, taking time to understand needs and say thank you.
* Respond quickly to changing customer needs and embrace store changes.
* Be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, balancing home and work life.
* Share ideas with your Manager and colleagues on store improvements for customers.
* Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (Full or Automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
