Senior Quantity Surveyor Opportunity
An award-winning Building & Civil Engineering contractor based in Co. Down has a new opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team. The company has recently expanded into new markets and business sectors, particularly in infrastructure and specialist areas, and has gained a reputation as a leading and reputable contractor delivering quality solutions to a diverse customer base.
Role Overview: The Quantity Surveyor will provide commercial support to the project team, maintain commercial information, and ensure contractual compliance. The role involves liaising with customer representatives and third parties on commercial issues such as variations, claims, and additional payments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure accurate and timely cost and value reporting at project and business unit levels.
2. Maintain accurate cash flow reporting and carry out cost management including forecasting.
3. Update monthly CVR, cost, and commercial plans, and be accountable for commercial performance and strategy alongside the project team.
4. Ensure subcontractor terms are appropriate, with identified commercial risks, and that supply chain contracts are properly managed.
5. Foster good client relationships.
6. Handle subcontract letting, negotiation, and financial accounting.
7. Coordinate effectively between the commercial team and operational site teams.
Candidate Requirements:
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in a QS role.
* Degree in Quantity Surveying.
* Familiarity with ICE/NEC forms of contract (NEC3 or NEC4) and current Construction Law.
