Two Rivers Medical Centre has an opportunity for a prescription clerk to join our busy prescribing team on a part-time basis, for 22.5 hours per week, working on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. This position is offered on a fixed term 12 month contract to cover maternity.
Main duties of the job Ensuring that requests for repeat prescriptions are actioned within 72 hours. This includes checking email requests, paper requests.
Covering phones lines and dealing with patient queries
Responding to all queries and requests from chemists, nursing homes and district nurses, regarding the issue of prescriptions.
Keeping repeat prescription information up-to-date in the patient journal, such as letters and doctors' requests.
Organising blood tests (through ICE system) or blood pressure checks for patients, relevant to their prescribing needs.
Medicine management liaising and discussing any enquires or queries raised by the clinical team.
Flexibility to cover other areas when required multi-skill mix.
Keep up-to-date with all prescribing guidelines and protocols, relevant to the position.

Person Specification Experience Possess experience of working in a busy, public environment.
Flexible, with a positive attitude.
Demonstrate good team working and communication skills.
Demonstrate an excellent standard of patient care.
General practice experience and knowledge of SystmOne would be an advantage.
