Job Description Senior Legal Counsel Tower 42, London Hybrid working - 1-2 days per week in office Full Time - 37.5 Hours Are you looking to make the move from private practice to in-house? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our highly regarded legal team as Senior Legal Counsel on a permanent basis. This role will suit an enthusiastic team player who is thoughtful and interested in having a varied and engaging workload. The position is London based with incredible office views of the city skyline. We are currently hybrid working, going into the office one or two days a week, although the office is open all week if required. As Senior Legal Counsel you will provide advice and assistance to all areas of the business and report directly to the Head of Legal, with support from other members of the legal team. The Type of Work You Will Be Doing: Providing commercially focused legal advice in a timely manner Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, including complex goods and service agreements, supplier contracts, licensing agreements, IT agreements, insurance and financing agreements and NHS Standard Contracts Assisting and advising on property lease and licencing arrangements Providing company secretarial support and advice, including corporate governance matters, statutory compliance and corporate filings Providing legal support on ad-hoc projects, compliance, acquisitions and other business development opportunities Assisting on Data Protection Act/GDPR matters, including in respect of commercial arrangements Instructing and managing external counsel Advising on and assisting with patient complaints and other disputes that arise within the commercial, employment and regulatory aspects of the business Advising on legal developments and regulatory changes and updating the business on these through training Assisting with professional development and knowledge management for the legal team Managing and developing more junior members of the legal team Managing a wide variety of senior stakeholder relationships Acting as a trusted advisor on legal issues to all levels of business personnel, up to and including senior executives Required Skills and Experience: At least 4-6* years post qualification experience with a strong corporate and commercial law background (*guide only) Training at a leading UK or international law firm or well-regarded in-house legal team Experience with a broad range of commercial contracts including a working knowledge of the NHS Standard Contract Ability to work autonomously and in a team Strong understanding of corporate and contract law and a general understanding of business and financial principals Ability to communicate effectively in group settings and before senior management Ability to work under pressure where necessary Well organised and able to work to deadlines managing a number of projects simultaneously Excellent interpersonal skills A general understanding of risk management Desired Skills and Experience: Some experience of property and employment law Experience in healthcare, life sciences or other regulated industry Awareness of, or interest in, the healthcare sector Awareness of, or interest in, AI and its potential uses in legal work If this role sounds interesting but you don’t meet every requirement listed, we would still encourage you to apply.
