The Opportunity:
The Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting security solutions to protect the organization's IT infrastructure from cyber threats. This role focuses on hands-on technical execution, assisting in the deployment and management of security tools, monitoring for vulnerabilities and incidents, and ensuring the organization's systems are configured and maintained securely.
As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will work closely with other IT and security team members to address operational security needs, investigate incidents, and contribute to the organization's compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
This position requires strong technical skills, problem-solving capabilities, and attention to detail to safeguard sensitive data and systems effectively
Key responsibilities of the role include:
* Deploy, configure, and maintain, troubleshoot security tools such as SIEM, EDR, DLP, VM, Threat Intel,PAM etc extending to Cloud toolsets
* Perform assessments to understand the current and potential security gaps
* Use monitoring tools to detect and anomalies and suspicious activity, extending to forensic tools
* Review scope of pen tests and facilitate access and set up of pen test from technical perspective.
This is a full-time role based in our Glasgow office with hybrid working, on an initial 12 month fixed term basis.

About you:
The successful candidate will have:
* Relevant experience in Cybersecurity and/or IT
* Experience in metric reporting and KPI/SLA management
* Managing escalations to a satisfactory outcome
* Experience delivering BAU initiatives and small internal projects using agile methodologies
* Experience working with Jira, Azure DevOps, ITSM tools such as Cherwell and ServiceNow and the MS Office suite.
