Are you an experienced Clinical Engineering professional ready to take the next step in your career? We're looking for a proactive and technically skilled Clinical Engineering Specialist to join our expert team based at Hinchingbrooke Hospital.
As a key member of the Clinical Engineering service, you will take on enhanced responsibilities in the support, management, and continuous improvement of medical devices across our Trust. This specialist role requires advanced technical expertise and independent problem-solving in high-risk, complex clinical environments--supporting equipment that is critical to patient care.
Main duties of the job
Deliver advanced fault diagnosis, repair, calibration, and maintenance of high-dependency and life-critical medical equipment.
Lead on the commissioning, acceptance, and risk assessment of new medical devices and technologies.
Act as a technical specialist across multiple equipment types, including theatre systems, ventilators, infusion devices, patient monitoring systems, diagnostic equipment, and mobility aids.
Provide authoritative technical advice and operational support to clinical staff, engineering colleagues, and Trust managers.
Supervise, mentor, and provide technical guidance to Band 5 Technicians and apprentices.
Contribute to equipment lifecycle planning, policy development, procurement reviews, and compliance assurance.
Support ISO 9001:2015 quality management system and lead service improvement initiatives.
Maintain accurate and auditable records using the Trust's medical equipment management system (e.g., e-Quip).
