Job overview We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, ambitious, motivated and experienced Radiographer to co-lead the Core Services team. This position is one of two X-ray Operational Lead Radiographers who will be expected to jointly manage the Core Services team. This role is offered as a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. Working Hours: The post holder is required to participate in an extended working day covering 08:00 to 20:00, 7-days per week, in line with the Agenda for Change shift system. The Core Services Department has three digital Siemens x-ray rooms, one Siemens fluoroscopy room, 8 digital mobile x-ray systems (Five Carestream and three Phillips), and an Xograph dental x-ray room. Location: St. Bartholomew's Hospital, in the heart of the City of London (St. Paul's). We offer a full range of local and specialist services, including centres for cancer treatment, heart conditions, fertility issues, endocrinology and sexual health conditions. The hospital includes the site of the new state-of-the-art Barts Heart Centre. Main duties of the job This is an exciting opportunity to join Europe's largest specialised cardiovascular centre. The appropriate candidate will have good general radiographic experience, be resilient, flexible and able to demonstrate leadership and clinical supervision skills. The post holder will work closely with the clinical, radiographic and managerial teams. For both documents, please view the attachment/s below. Person specification Experience Essential criteria Senior Radiographer in a busy general hospital with a range of appropriate clinical service. Experience of developing and delivering training to radiographers and students Presentation skills - the ability to present clearly, logically and thoughtfully on a given topic at short notice to a mix of levels Development and implementation of Radiographic protocols and procedures. Governance compliance and risk management in all areas of practice Able to work unsupervised Awareness of clinical governance issue in relation to patient care Desirable criteria Project management and Change management experience Recruitment experience of junior Radiographers Skills Essential criteria Knowledge in a range of plain film radiography and technique optimisation Teaching and training skills with the ability to adapt training and teaching styles in response to needs of the trainee. Team player with enthusiasm for plain film radiography, with the ability to engage staff at all levels. PACS, RIS knowledge and experience. IT skills, with advanced levels of understanding of Microsoft office Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills interpersonal skills - Ability to prioritise workload and respond to short notice demands Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills Conflict resolution and mediation skills Desirable criteria Experience of dealing with - conflicting/ controversial/sensitive situations Ability to negotiate on difficult and controversial issues including performance and change Knowledge/Qualific ations Essential criteria Diagnostic Radiography BSc/equivalen HCPC registration working towards qualificatio Understanding of relevant legislation, national standards and professional guidelines Knowledge of Ionising Radiation Regulations IRR 17 and IR(ME)R 2017 Evidence of appropriate Continuous Professional Development Desirable criteria Teaching qualification Student Clinical Assessors course Knowledge of relevant NICE Guidelines Visa Sponsorship Information Recent changes to UK immigration policy on the Health and Care Visa and Skilled Worker Visa could mean that this role is not eligible for sponsorship or that you may not meet the eligibility criteria.
