Senior Applications Engineer - Connect Fibre
Reports to: Head of Systems Development
Working from Home £65,000 per annum plus benefits

Founded in 2020 by a team of like-minded, very experienced telecoms professionals, we have one vision; to deliver. We are a rapidly growing fibre broadband business with a bold plan for the rapid rollout of multi-gigabit full-fibre broadband networks and services to communities across the UK.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Application Engineer to join our dynamic team supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of software applications.
Working closely with other engineers and cross-functional teams you will ensure the successful delivery of high-quality solutions that meet business and customer requirements. This is an excellent opportunity to play a big part in our transformation plans.
The Role
* Design, develop, test and implement backend services and integrations using Python and modern frameworks.
* Build and maintain frontend applications using PHP, JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks like Angular or Vue.
* Lead development projects through the entire lifecycle and mentor junior engineers.
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical development issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
* Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical development documentation, including user guides, system documentation, and design specifications.
* Conduct regular code reviews to maintain code quality, performance and adherence to coding standards.
* Work closely with other engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and contribute to the design and development process.
* Suggest and implement improvements & best practices to the development process, ensuring efficiency and quality in application delivery.
* Working closely with the wider Technology team to align system direction and deliver improvements.
* Helping shape technical decisions and taking part in solution design discussions.
The Candidate
A developer with a proven track record in supporting successful development projects, involved in the full development lifecycle from analysis to development.
* 5+ years in software development or application development.
* Strong skills in at least one programming language - Javascript, Python, PHP.
* Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a bonus.
* Experience with Wordpress and WooCommerce would be beneficial.
* Familiarity with software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Devops etc.) and version control.
* Experience of Cloud infrastructures Azure or AWS.
* Working experience of API and REST API integrations.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate development risks effectively.
* Experience of development and integration of SAAS applications, Hubspot beneficial but not essential.
* Knowledge of geopandas, numpy, node or SQL is desirable but not essential.
* Experience with GIT and Docker processes.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
* Strong problem solving skills and leadership abilities.
Personal Profile & Working Conditions
Location: Candidates must be currently resident in the UK and with either UK citizenship or indefinite leave to remain.

Connect Fibre operates a hybrid working model with main emphasis on home working with intermittent visits to company office locations, in particular the main office in London.
