We’re seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of the commercial performance of major building projects. You’ll be responsible for managing all project costs from start to finish, ensuring budgets are controlled without compromising quality. You will also lead and develop junior commercial staff, supporting their career progression.
As a Managing Quantity Surveyor within Balfour Beatty, you will:
 * Oversee tender preparation, cost estimates, and resource/activity schedules.
 * Track subcontractor performance and monitor commercial progress.
 * Review project programmes, manage delays, and contribute to procurement planning.
 * Analyse rates, negotiate variations or claims, and produce commercial reports.
 * Manage stakeholder and client engagement for assigned projects.
 * Lead and mentor junior staff, supporting their professional development and career growth.
We are looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor with the following:
 * BSc/MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
 * Chartered or working towards RICS, ICES, or CIOB membership.
 * Experience managing costs on building projects.
 * Proven ability to lead teams and mentor less experienced staff.
