Pre-Press Operator

The company has opportunities for a Pre-Press Operator working in our Reflex Label site in Boston.
Roles and Responsibilities
As a Pre-Press Operator, you will be responsible for the issuing of laid plates and mixed inks to the print presses, according to the daily Production Plan. You will also be responsible for assisting the printers with various make ready tasks and wash offs, as and when required. You must ensure all tasks are carried out to high standards and that the standards are maintained, working constantly towards production improvement methods, to eliminate potential quality problems and reduce downtime. Working as part of a team you will support your colleagues and share information with them.
Tasks:
* To follow all aspects of Quality Control and Quality Assurance in the Pre-Press department and ensure accurate records are maintained.
* To ensure your teamwork and maintain safe working systems to ensure personnel are kept free from injury and operations are safe and efficient
* Ensure collaborative working within the Pre-Press department via good communication
* Supporting the efficiencies of print production, by ensuring the presses have sufficient jobs issued at all times.
* Retrieval of the relevant job bag for the relevant press, according to the production plan
* Sourcing the correct plates according to the job bag and verifying using both the product code and Reflex code found in the bearer bars of the plate
* Laying the plates on the correct cylinder size to the correct orientation, according to the job bag
* Sourcing/mixing the required inks
* Assisting printers with make ready’s and wash offs, when required
* Returning plates, print cylinders and left of ink mixes to the correct locations after use
* Maintain tidiness of work area, including keeping computers and printing equipment clean and in good repair
* Perform light maintenance of equipment, including software updates and replacement of consumable supplies as needed.

* Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
* Ability to operate or to quickly learn to operate various printing machines and related software
* Ability to follow instructions
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* Experience working within a team with a good standard of communication
