37 hours a week: 08:00-17:00 Mon-Thurs, 08:00-13:00 Fri
Up to £20.80p/h PAYE hourly rate plus holiday and pension contribution

Based on site in Stafford, you’ll help shape next-generation diesel and spark-ignited engines used in critical sectors like marine, rail, and energy, working across the full product lifecycle to deliver high-performance, cost-effective solutions.

Role Responsibilities:
* Design and develop engine components and systems for timely release to production
* Lead and support DFMEA and DVP&R creation
* Conduct research into new materials and competitor products
* Build and test prototypes, analyse results, and refine designs
* Release product designs into engineering systems to a high standard
* Act as the engineering lead for the “Cost-Down” project team
* Collaborate with global teams and suppliers to support project delivery
* Prepare and deliver technical presentations and documentation
What you need:
* A degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred
* 1+ years’ experience in diesel or spark-ignited engine design
* Strong product development experience
* Extensive knowledge of Creo and ability to perform basic simulation work
* Good mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturability
* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
* Confident using Microsoft Office, especially Excel
