Read more about our story at: www.iplschoeller.com A vacancy has arisen for a Quality Team Leader to join the team at our Rotherham site (S61). This is a brand-new role in our structure, brought about by our continued growth, and will become integral to ensuring that our products meet both internal quality standards and customer requirements. The position includes the line management of a small team and supporting continuous improvement within the department. Success in this role means ensuring product quality, meeting customer requirements and demand, and maintaining efficient inspection and testing processes. This is a full-time role (40 hours per week across a Monday to Friday shift pattern) with opportunities for overtime. Key responsibilities include: · Line management of a small team of 3 QA Technicians, and supervising ad-hoc agency staff in QC activities. · Motivate, coach and act as a champion for the production shift team, ensuring that they have the necessary skills, tools and work environment they need to excel. · Organise shift working, holiday cover, arrange overtime and provide emergency cover for the HSEQ in the event of any unplanned absences so as to minimise disruption to the factory operations. · Ensure that all QC activities, including first-off inspections, visual checks, dimensional checks, destructive tests and incoming inspections are completed on time, to plan and to the required standards, and will provide updates on live QC issues, scrap, machine faults, rework activities, complaints, etc, at daily pulse meetings. · Ensure that all QC records are complete, correct, auditable and correctly achieved. · Support the shift team to identify defects quickly, and respond quickly to minimise scrap, by alerting the Production teams to issues, identifying any affected stock, and supporting rework activities. · Look for opportunities to improve shift QC activities by reducing unnecessary admin, and modifying inspection routines, to help the factory run efficiently, and meet OEE and OTIF requirements with minimal disruption. · Attend the daily shift communication meeting to ensure that live HSEQ issues are cascaded to all staff. · Maintain the Quality Test Lab to a high standard of housekeeping, ensuring that equipment is calibrated and maintained, and with established cleaning rotas in place. · Champion health and safety activities, helping to keep all our team safe by identifying issues and working to action resolutions. · Support our Sales and Commercial colleagues in bids and tenders by ensuring high quality samples of each product type are held in stock and contribute to customer visits. · Support our production team by ensuring machine cycle times are not adversely affected any more than necessary to achieve quality requirements without significantly impacting productivity targets or planned shipping dates. · Keep track of non-conformances ensuring that robust corrective and preventive actions are put in place across all shifts. About You You will have: · A good standard of IT literacy and numerical reasoning, with the ability to produce high quality reports, presentations and documentation · Sound knowledge and application of Microsoft Office packages · Excellent attention to detail · Exposure to conducting product inspections, measurements, destructive testing, visual inspection, etc · The ability to communicate confidently and effectively with a range of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation · Prior experience of leading or supervising a small team · Prior experience of supporting ISO9001 audits, or conducting ISO9001 audits (desirable) What we can offer the right candidate You can expect a competitive hourly rate with opportunities for overtime working.
