Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant to support our 7 -year-old son who has complex needs including learning disability, autism and ADHD. The ideal candidate will help create a nurturing environment, assist with activities, and promote social and emotional development.
Tasks will include:
• Provide one-on-one support
• Assist with educational activities, ensuring learning is engaging and supportive.
• Facilitate social interactions and play, helping to build communication skills and friendships.
• Encourage participation in hobbies and interests, including sports or outdoor activities.
• Accompany our son to, outings, and social activities.
• Provide Input to ideas of activities / things to do.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding progress, challenges, and any concerns.
• Any other duties commensurate with the role of Care Worker / Personal Assistant
Required Skills
Qualifications:
• Ideally someone with experience working with children, particularly those with autism or special needs (preferred). This is not mandatory, but some experience of childcare / SEN would be advantageous. Or maybe you have done / are doing a childcare or SEN related course at college / university.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to adapt to our son's individual needs and preferences.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (if required for outings).
• Caring and understanding nature.
• Creative and resourceful in engaging our son.
• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
