Role Purpose
To oversee and direct allegations of harm in relation to adult protection and to direct Council Officers as part of their inquiry / investigation. The Adult Protection Officer will coordinate Interagency Referral Discussion (IRD) and chair case conferences when required. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with partner agencies such as Police Scotland, NHS Borders, and the third sector. In Scottish Borders, we promote a 'think family' approach and close interagency working around risk.

Essential Requirements
* Applicants must hold a relevant recognized qualification, e.g., diploma or degree in social work, nursing, or occupational therapy, and be one year post-qualified.
* Applicants must have Council Officer status and experience in this critical role.
* Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
* A current driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential. Scottish Borders Council offers inclusion into a pool car scheme, limiting the use of personal vehicles. If you have a disability preventing you from holding a driver’s licence, reasonable adjustments will be considered.
