Finance Business Partner job in Bath Your new role This is a Finance Business Partner role with a strong emphasis on the preparation of monthly management accounts and core financial control. While offering broader business-facing exposure, the position requires hands-on involvement in the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. Full responsibility for preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L and balance sheet ownership Preparing and submitting VAT returns in line with HMRC deadlines Posting and reconciling payroll journals, accruals, prepayments, and deferred income Completing key balance sheet reconciliations including intercompany, fixed assets, and control accounts Preparation of ad hoc financial analysis and quarterly external reporting Supporting the Head of Finance with budgeting, forecasting and internal MI reporting Supporting year-end processes and preparing audit evidence for external auditors Collaborating closely with operational teams to improve internal reporting and enhance the flow of information between departments within the division Taking a proactive role in reviewing and improving financial systems, controls, and procedures Exposure to wider group finance function with the opportunity to support group-level initiatives and reporting requirements What you'll need to succeed Fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA or similar); part-qualified candidates will also be considered Strong experience preparing full management accounts, statutory accounts, VAT returns, and audit support Background in either industry or practice considered Proficient Microsoft Excel - broad knowledge of Excel and the ability to tackle complex tasks and provide analysis from large data sets Strong communicator with experience liaising with clients, stakeholders, and auditors Able to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities in deadline-driven environments Self-driven, solution-focused, and proactive — able to take ownership of tasks, ask the right questions, work through problems independently, and deliver clear, considered solutions without requiring ongoing direction.
