The Cardiothoracic unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital performs 700 adult cardiac surgical cases per annum. As well as the usual range of myocardial revascularization and valve replacement procedures, the case mix comprises complex thoracic aortic surgery, mini mitral valve repair, minimally invasive coronary and valve surgery, and off‑pump coronary surgery.
The Department of Clinical Perfusion provides additional support when required to the Cardiology Angiography Suite, and is working alongside Cardiologists and Intensivists on an emerging MCS program for Cardiogenic Shock.
The Department is currently looking to recruit a Senior Clinical Perfusionist, making a total establishment of 9 qualified Perfusionists and 2 trainees.

Participation in the on‑call rota will be required – this is currently at a frequency of 1:6 with 4.5% uplift and additional calls paid hourly on NHSP.
Additionally the Trust is offering a Recruitment and Retention premia of £5 000 pro‑rata for this role. Please ask for details.
