Role Overview
We are seeking motivated and technically capable Graduate Electrical Engineers to support electrical engineering activities across the Sellafield PPP programme.
This is a site-based role within an operational nuclear licensed site, offering hands-on exposure to electrical design implementation, construction, and installation in a highly regulated and safety-critical environment. You will work as part of an integrated PPP delivery team, supporting the safe and efficient delivery of electrical systems, while following a structured graduate development pathway toward professional accreditation and Chartered status.
Key Responsibilities
* Support electrical construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities on an active, operational nuclear site
* Assist in the review and implementation of electrical designs, drawings, specifications, method statements, and work packs
* Support site inspections, quality assurance checks, testing, and handover documentation
* Contribute to planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring of electrical construction activities
* Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and client representatives to support safe and efficient project delivery
* Ensure compliance with nuclear regulatory requirements, site licence conditions, and company procedures
* Promote a strong safety culture and adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards
* Support defect identification, resolution, continuous improvement initiatives, and reporting of electrical works
* Actively engage in structured graduate training, mentoring, and professional development activities
Key Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Control and Instrumentation or a related discipline
* Interest in electrical construction, power systems, control systems, or nuclear plant operations
* Good technical understanding, problem-solving, and analytical skills
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in both site-based and office environments
* Willingness to travel to site as required
* Previous industrial placement, site experience, or electrical construction exposure is advantageous but not essential
Security & Eligibility Requirements
Due to the nature of operational nuclear sites:
* Applicants must be eligible to obtain BPSS security clearance
* Appointment is subject to satisfactory security clearance and background checks
