Have you always wanted to work as a Children's Residential Support Worker? We have an amazing opportunity for a permanent role in a children's residential service in North Aston, Oxfordshire, supporting young people aged 8–18 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours. We are looking for enthusiastic, resilient and motivated individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of young people by helping them develop socially, emotionally and behaviourally in a safe and caring environment. The work is fast-paced and varied, and it can be challenging but rewarding. This role involves engaging, encouraging and mentoring the young people, with a focus on fun and positive activities.
Please note: due to the nature of the role and activities involved, we require applicants to have a full driver’s licence and a car. Sleep allowances are included.
Location, Contract and Hours
Location: North Aston, Oxfordshire
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time, 39 hours per week. Long day shifts and sleep-ins.

* Salary: £31,279 – £33,705 inclusive of sleep-ins

Responsibilities
* Encourage young people to participate in activities and develop responsibility appropriate to their age.
* Maintain a homely, friendly culture and environment within the homes.
* Dealing with challenging behaviours when needed in a supportive manner.
* Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
* Provide support to promote independence and well-being and maintain a safe living environment.
* Ensure up-to-date knowledge of each individual’s care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
* Support challenging behaviour in a safe and empathetic way.
* Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, social workers and other professionals involved in the young people’s lives (e.g., psychologists).
Requirements
* Experience as a Children's Residential Support Worker or with young people is desirable.
* Experience in another healthcare or social care setting is desirable.
* You must be a car driver and able to transport young people as needed.
* You must be over 21 years of age.
* NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children & Young People is desirable.
* You must be able to commute to North Aston in Oxfordshire.
