Overview
The post holder is required to work as a part of the theatre team and undertake a range of duties to assist in the smooth running of the perioperative environment and to support service delivery. The post holder will contribute to the efficient running of the department and maintain the provision of a consistently high standard of patient care in line with the Stockport Accreditation and Recognition Scheme (StARS) and the Trusts values.

Responsibilities
* To undertake delegated clinical and non-clinical duties independently and under supervision as required or delegated by registered staff
* Preparation of theatres for activity - setting up the necessary equipment before theatre lists
* Participate in patient positioning, ensuring the equipment/table attachments for various surgical positions are available and present when needed
* Work within the Perioperative environment, providing high-quality, caring, compassionate, and personal care to patients across a variety of surgical specialties
* Work under the direction of Registered Healthcare Professionals and senior colleagues, both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* Act always in a manner which illustrates respect for privacy, dignity, equality, diversity, and confidentiality
* Always exhibit a professional attitude
* Ensure that theatre floors are mopped, and the theatre table and all other relevant equipment are cleaned between cases, ensuring that theatre cleanliness is always maintained
* Change, dispose of, and replenish rubbish/laundry bags, anatomical waste, used surgical attire, contaminated PPE, single-use instruments, and sharps as per policy
* Promote standards of health and safety in working practice and the workplace, by being responsible for self and others through identifying risks, undertaking work activities in a safe manner
* To undertake reasonable requests from senior staff as required
