Our client, a reputable dealership in Romford, Essex, is seeking a highly skilled Workshop Controller to join their team. The role involves leading the workshop team, optimising operational performance, and delivering exceptional customer service. Duties
* Lead and manage the workshop technician team to maximise productivity, first‑time fix rates, and sold hours
* Oversee customer‑facing staff to enhance sales opportunities while maintaining high customer service standards
* Implement and utilise digital systems and processes aligned with the dealership's digitalisation strategy
* Develop and mentor team members to support their skills, knowledge, and career growth
* Optimise operational processes within the customer journey, including Vehicle Health Checks
* Ensure compliance with DVSA MOT regulations, health and safety standards, and group financial procedures
* Contribute to the overall dealership goals through positive departmental influence
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Workshop Controller or in a similar supervisory role in the automotive sector
* Strong leadership and team management capabilities
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* Sound knowledge of workshop operations and digital systemsAbility to motivate a team and achieve targets
* Full UK driving licence
