About the role
We are looking for a full‑time Consultant Geriatrician to join our Care of the Elderly (COTE) department at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. The post is open to job‑sharing or part‑time arrangements.
Responsibilities
* Work with existing Consultant staff within COTE to expand services for older people.
* Support major new service developments at Hospital of St Cross, Rugby and University Hospital, Coventry.
* Pursue sub‑specialty interests and develop new services including Community Geriatric services, care for elderly major trauma patients, frailty same‑day emergency care (SDEC), ambulatory and hot clinics, surgical liaison and onco‑geriatric services.
* Collaborate with other specialties to set up joint Heart Failure services, movement disorder clinics and fracture liaison services.
* Attend and complete required training and development opportunities such as Lean for Leaders, Advanced Lean Training and the Human Factors Programme (full attendance is essential).
Qualifications & requirements
Qualified Consultant Geriatrician with experience in geriatric medicine. Willingness to participate in continuous professional development and apply lean management principles is required.
