Role Overview
The placement focuses on Portfolio Management and Quantitative Research within the Alpha Strategies investment team. The role offers exposure to:
* Portfolio management of systematic credit products (CAF, WCAF, EMD blend, systematic credit).
* Quantitative research in fixed‑income, model maintenance and optimisation.
* Cross‑department shadowing in Credit Research, Fixed Income Trading, Investment Operations, Client Relationship Management, Human Resources, Compliance, Macro Research and Investment Risk Analysis.
Responsibilities
* Maintain and improve quantitative models for bond valuations and trading.
* Conduct research in fixed income and present results to senior stakeholders.
* Support portfolio management by integrating quantitative insights into investment decisions.
Skills and Requirements
* Excellent academic record in mathematics, statistics, engineering or a related quantitative discipline.
* Proficiency with programming languages such as MATLAB, Python and SQL.
* Strong communication skills suitable for collaboration with colleagues in London and Boston.
* Knowledge of fixed‑income instruments, especially corporate credit (plus).
* Experience with machine‑learning techniques (plus).
Programme Details
* Fixed‑term, 12‑month contract paying £32,000.
* Private medical and dental insurance as part of the package.
* 25 days annual leave; hybrid working model with a minimum of 3 days in the office (Tue‑Thu) at 77 Coleman Street.
* Leadership and networking opportunities through the Investment20/20 programme, including networking events and socials.
* Potential support to begin a professional qualification such as IMC.
