The School of Law and Social Sciences offers an undergraduate honours degree in Applied Social Sciences and a postgraduate MSc in Applied Psychology, along with various social work courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer in Psychology to join our team.
Applicants should have a doctorate, teaching experience in a Higher Education environment, and be capable of delivering and assessing courses within the undergraduate BA (Hons) in Applied Social Sciences (including a BPS-accredited Applied Psychology exit route) and the BPS-accredited MSc in Applied Psychology conversion courses. Knowledge and experience in areas such as introductory psychology, counselling, personality and individual differences, social psychology, organisational psychology, cyber psychology, and forensic psychology are desirable.

Purpose of the Post: To contribute to course delivery, development, and research activities within the School.
Principal Duties:
* Deliver and develop courses for the undergraduate BA (Hons) in Applied Social Sciences and MSc in Applied Psychology, including face-to-face and online teaching.
* Develop and prepare teaching materials.
* Provide tutorials and guidance to students.
* Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects.
* Maintain expertise in relevant subject areas.
* Participate in curriculum and course development, including new teaching methods.
* Undertake course management and administrative duties such as student assessment, timetabling, and attendance monitoring.
* Promote the School and its courses locally, nationally, and internationally.
* Collaborate with other departments and staff for smooth operation and development.
* Engage in staff development and research activities, including publication, research supervision, and conference presentation.
* Establish and maintain professional and industrial links relevant to the School’s activities.
* Represent the School on university and external committees.
* Perform other duties as required.

Essential Requirements:
* First-class Honours degree in psychology or a relevant discipline.
* PhD in Psychology or nearing completion.
* HE teaching experience.
* Knowledge of and experience in areas such as counselling, introductory psychology, social psychology, developmental psychology, research methods, educational psychology, or organisational psychology.
