Job Opportunity: Deputy Manager Residential Children's Home Location: Great Dunmow, Essex Hours: Full-time. Salary: from £36,000 per annum Service Type: Ofsted Registered Children's Home W e are looking for a passionate, Deputy Manager to join our Ofsted registered Childrens Home in Great Dunmow. We are looking for someone to support the day-to-day running of the service and ensure the highest standards of care and support are consistently delivered. Key Responsibilities: Leadership: Assist the Registered Manager in leading and supervising the care staff and young resident(s). Care Planning: Develop, implement, and monitor individual care plans, ensuring childrens physical, emotional, and developmental needs are met. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the home is compliant with all relevant regulations, policies, and best practice guidelines, maintaining our high standards of care. Support and Mentorship: Provide guidance, mentoring, and support to the care team to enhance their skills and professional development. Crisis Management: Effectively handle and resolve critical situations to ensure the safety of children and staff. Collaboration: Work with external agencies, schools, and families to provide holistic care. Administration: Oversee rotas, budgeting, and maintain accurate records and reports. Requirements: Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 or 5 in Children and Young Peoples Workforce or equivalent e.g Health and Social Care. Experience: Experience in a supervisory or management role within a residential care setting for children, preferably with EBD experience (though not essential). Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and organisational abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and make informed decisions under pressure. Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the complexities and challenges associated with EBD, and familiarity with relevant legislation and standards.
