External Account Manager – South Yorkshire

£45,000–£50,000 + £40k OTE (Year 1)

Car Allowance Provided


Overview

As an External Account Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in accelerating commercial growth across key markets including retail, e-commerce, and high-street sectors. You’ll manage the full sales cycle, develop high-value relationships, and act as a trusted advisor to organisations shipping parcels at scale. Backed by a strong operational and leadership team, you’ll have the autonomy to shape your territory while progressing toward more senior roles within the business.


Key Responsibilities

* Pipeline Ownership: Build, manage, and strategically expand your own sales pipeline with a focus on consistent monthly and quarterly performance.
* New Business Generation: Identify, target, and secure new customers in the retail and e-commerce sectors.
* CRM Management: Maintain accurate forecasting, reporting, and activity tracking within the CRM.
* Onboarding & Implementation: Lead smooth client onboarding processes, ensuring quick adoption and a seamless go-live experience.
* Client Enablement: Deliver training, tools, and guidance to help customers confidently self-serve.
* Account Performance: Monitor client activity, address issues early, and manage escalations professionally.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with operations teams to uphold service standards and support long-term customer satisfaction.


About You

* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Solid IT competence, particularly across Microsoft Office tools.
* Driven, ambitious, and motivated by hitting and exceeding targets.
* Comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture.
* Minimum of 1 year’s field sales experience.
* Logistics sector experience is highly advantageous.
* Full UK driving licence.
