Product Manager – Kinder-Janes Engineers Ltd, St Albans, UK
Kinder-Janes Engineers Ltd are the UK Customer Centre for the newly formed Atlas Copco Industrial Flow Division. We specialise in Pumps, Compressors and Process Equipment, representing both Atlas Copco brands such as Lewa and Varisco, plus many other leading manufacturers, to offer our customers a wide range of complementary products.
We are looking for a Product Manager to join the Sales Team, focusing on the Centrifugal pumps brands we represent. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects throughout the sales process and beyond. The role involves a mix of Sales, Applications, and Project Management, working directly with end users and engineering contractors.
Your role
* Conduct sales visits, participate in exhibitions, deliver presentations, and proactively solicit customer inquiries to identify sales opportunities.
* Establish and maintain professional relationships with existing and new customers.
* Develop and sustain good relationships with Principal/Manufacturers.
* Review inquiries, clarify client requirements and specifications.
* Prepare and issue suitable product quotations using manufacturer selection and pricing tools, and issue sub-supplier inquiries.
* Handle customer purchase orders, including review, clarification, and acceptance.
* Prepare and issue requisitions to manufacturers and sub-suppliers.
* Liaise with and expedite communication between customers and manufacturers as necessary.
* Review and accept goods and documentation.
* Provide technical support internally and externally, including attending customer and manufacturer premises in the UK and overseas.
* Respond promptly to all communications, providing accurate information to support excellent customer service.
* Collaborate with colleagues across the business to enhance efficiency and professionalism.
* Maintain and update company administrative systems, including enquiry, order, and customer databases.
* Provide budget and forecast data to principals and directors as required.
* Perform all duties in accordance with company HS&E procedures, QMS processes, and Employee Handbook.
To succeed, you will need
* A passion for sales and developing partnerships with customers and principals.
* An engineering or technical background or qualification; sales experience and a positive attitude are also valued.
* Knowledge or experience in selling process equipment such as pumps or compressors is advantageous, but full training will be provided.
* A full UK driving license, with regular travel within the UK.
Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, CRM tools, etc.
