As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEN, helping them access the curriculum and engage in learning. Support the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons and activities. Implement individual learning and behaviour support plans under the guidance of the SENCO. Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and confidence in pupils. Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment. Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and support staff. Foster strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to ensure consistent support. Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant: Experience supporting children or young people with SEN in a school or similar setting. A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with children. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Knowledge of Autism, ADHD, or other additional learning needs (desirable). An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply). A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
