Salary: Up to £42,000 basic + overtime at 1.5x
OTE: £55,000+ per year (uncapped)
Bonus: Productivity bonus up to £4,000 per annum

We are seeking an experienced HGV Technician to support a high-performing commercial workshop in the London area. This role focuses heavily on post‑diagnostic repair work, taking over from initial diagnostic assessments to complete the mechanical and electrical rectification work required.

About the Role Working within a busy HGV workshop, you will be responsible for:
Completing all mechanical and electrical repairs following diagnostic reports
Carrying out component replacements, system repairs, and correction of identified faults
Performing routine servicing, maintenance inspections, and safety checks
Ensuring all repair work aligns with manufacturer guidelines and standards
Following detailed job instructions provided by senior or diagnostic technicians
Completing job cards, repair documentation, and digital service records
Working efficiently to support workshop productivity and turnaround times
Assisting with complex repairs when required and supporting junior technicians
Maintaining high standards of workshop safety and vehicle compliance This role is ideal for technicians who prefer hands-on repair over diagnostic responsibilities.
What We're Looking For
Strong background as an HGV Technician
Confident with mechanical and electrical repairs following diagnostic findings
Experience working with heavy commercial vehicles (HGV, LGV, PSV, or similar)
Level 3 qualification preferred, but time-served technicians with 5+ years' experience welcomed
Ability to follow detailed repair instructions and work to set standards
Strong organisational and time management skills
A team player with a flexible, proactive approach
Understanding of workshop safety, compliance, and best practices Preferred experience (not essential):
Manufacturer technical training
IRTEC accreditation
HGV Class 1 or 2 licence
Experience with roadside repair procedures
