The Role
Working within the Personal Insolvency team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of technical Personal Insolvency services on individual portfolios and provide guidance to more junior members of the team.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, control, and pro-actively maintain a portfolio of personal insolvency cases.
* Have thorough knowledge of Bankruptcies and IVAs. Knowledge of corporate insolvency and their inter-action with individuals would be a benefit.
* Draft necessary reports to unsecured creditors, secured creditors, creditors’ committees, and the Court.
* Deal with and adjudicate on retention of title, secured, preferential, and unsecured claims with assistance if necessary.
* Attend at trading premises when necessary.
* Carry out investigations to uncover claims for preferences, transactions at undervalue, etc.
* Prepare associated documentation for statutory meetings.
* Oversee or prepare accurate books and records inventories, and take responsibility for the safeguard, removal, and storage of such from premises.
* Maximize asset realizations and ensure recoveries are pursued in a pro-active and cost-effective way.
* Handle estate monies correctly through banking and cheque requests.
* Complete VAT returns and reclaims.
* Liaise with professional agents and advisors.
* Produce quality reports and letters.
* Communicate with stakeholders via telephone and generate comprehensive and accurate file notes.
* Monitor, maintain, and update checklists and IPS diary lines.
* Monitor costs to ensure fees are drawn at appropriate stages, in accordance with creditor resolutions.
* Handle day-to-day correspondence, including non-standard items.
* Adhere to statutory compliance, current legislation (Insolvency Act), best practices, and company policies.
* Participate in internal and external marketing events to build relationships.
General
* Complete assignments for Managers & MDs to the required level.
* Manage workflow and delegate tasks appropriately.
* Attend and chair meetings, prepare minutes, and follow up on actions.
* Mentor trainees, manage delegation and on-the-job training, and review their work.
* Maintain referrer and client relationships, ensuring confidentiality.
Reporting, Relationships & Management
* Report to Assistant Managers, Managers, Directors, and Partners.
* Delegate work to Trainees and Administrators.
* Manage a caseload in addition to assisting others in the team.
Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills Required
* Minimum of 3 years insolvency experience required.
* Working towards or CPI qualified.
* Good compliance skills with limited supervision.
* Ability to anticipate and communicate problems effectively.
* Proficient in IT including Excel, Word, Outlook, IPS, and VC.
* Maintain high professional standards of conduct and practice.
* Knowledge of Quantuma, industry, markets, and core client base, with ability to identify business opportunities.
* Efficient time management and flexibility.
* Build rapport internally and externally.
* Awareness of financial targets and contribution to their achievement.
* Ability to convert options into recommendations and resolutions.
* Commitment to continuous learning.
