Job Summary
We are pleased to offer an additional Band 7 position in our existing Podiatry team. This role is offered on a part‑time basis of 17.5 hours per week. Candidates interested in part‑time work are encouraged to apply and will receive a pro‑rata salary.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual with significant clinical experience in managing diabetic foot care. This is an exciting development opportunity to work across the integrated diabetic foot care pathway. You will collaborate with colleagues from primary, secondary and community teams.
You should be highly organised, able to work independently and be aware of professional and national guidelines. You should stay up to date with current best practice and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Our client base is high‑risk and you will be responsible for implementing and coordinating the treatment and management of foot complications associated with this caseload; working across many clinical settings.

Job Description
Act as a specialist practitioner, demonstrating advanced theoretical knowledge and highly specialised clinical skills within the field of the diabetic foot. Manage complex cases using advanced clinical reasoning, critical thinking, reflection and analysis to support assessment, diagnosis, management and treatment planning – predominantly for patients living with diabetes.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supports management of patients with complex chronic and acute conditions whilst inpatients
* Help with the management and support the renal case load of high risk patients
* Manage clinical risk within own patient caseload
* Provide support and clinical leadership to community colleagues
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
* BSc (Hons) Degree / Diploma in Podiatry or equivalent qualification
* HCPC Registered
* Postgraduate study at or equivalent to Master Level in a relevant area of high‑risk foot or diabetes
* Independent Prescriber
Desirable Qualifications
* Evidence of Teaching and/or student support
* Certificate of Local Analgesia
* Evidence of Advanced Assessment and Treatment Skills
Essential Experience
* Extensive evidence of managing a caseload autonomously
* Evidence of broad clinical knowledge of the management of patients with active and high‑risk foot problems, particularly those with diabetes, including assessment, diagnosis and treatment
* Experience of designing and delivering education and training events for patients and colleagues
* Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team
Desirable Experience
* Experience of working in a community setting
* Experience of developing new care pathways / protocols
* Experience of service redesign
* Change management experience, influencing others and delivering results
* Experience of team management
Essential Knowledge
* Excellent working knowledge of National Standards / developments, especially relating to care of the diabetic patient
* Excellent ability to communicate complex and sensitive information to patients and colleagues using a range of communication methods
* The ability to write and present clear and concise reports
* Ability to manage own caseload and supervise others
* Experience of using an electronic patient record system
Desirable Knowledge
* Experience of working across the acute foot pathway
