There are 2 posts available for this position, one is a permanent role and one is a fixed term contract for the duration of 2 years.
Job Summary:
This post is needed to manage the increased workload as more penalty notices are issued with the aim of reducing unauthorised and persistent absences.
The post holder must be motivated, adaptable, and able (with training) to provide the business support and service delivery needs of the team, including screening and administration support for penalty notices and other areas of the legal intervention (e.g. court files preparation etc).
Efficiency and attention to detail is essential, as is the confidence and ability to deal with challenging services users who may be unhappy with the fact that they have received a penalty notice or are subject to the legal intervention process.
A relevant professional qualification (minimum NVQ 3 or equivalent or working towards) and/or considerable (2 years +) experience in a similar setting. Ability to evaluate and report on data relating to attendance.
The applicant must display:
High level of interpersonal skills including the ability to manage potential conflict situations.
Able to advise, support and challenge professionals and families.
Self-confident and able to work alone for long periods.
Persuasive; determined and willing to take legal action when necessary.
High level of communication skills including attention to accuracy in written reports etc. Able to work in a team and to accept management support/direction but also be comfortable working alone and unsupervised for periods
