Job Description:
Are you an expert in climate and sustainability, with a passion for driving meaningful change through influencing decision-making at senior levels? AXA UK is seeking an Environment and Sustainability Manager to deliver our Climate & ESG strategy across the UK Property, Procurement, and Operations (PP&O) function. You’ll lead the implementation and management of initiatives to improve the environmental performance of the UK Property estate, General Expenses (GenEx), and IT Expenses supply chain, as well as wider operational activities. You’ll collaborate with Group and other AXA entities to roll out best practices, supporting AXA’s climate targets.
At AXA, we promote flexible working, allowing at least 40% of your workweek to be remote, with options to work from offices in Bristol, Bolton, Ipswich, or Manchester, visit clients, or attend industry events. Flexible arrangements can be discussed with Talent Acquisition.
What you’ll be doing:
* Implement PP&O Climate initiatives and manage UK operational climate metrics submissions to meet Group targets and regulatory requirements (CSRD, SECR), including CFO sign-off when needed.
* Serve as the primary contact for AXA UK on Climate & ESG matters impacting the PP&O function, liaising with Group, business teams, and external stakeholders.
* Deliver presentations, build relationships, and maintain market knowledge.
* Manage the Sustainable Procurement Analyst to support emissions reduction, inclusive spend, and personal development.
* Oversee utilities procurement and manage relationships with energy suppliers, consultants, and brokers.
* Coordinate with Data & Reporting teams to maintain climate metrics databases and support environmental initiatives.
What you’ll bring:
* Degree in Environmental Management, Climate & ESG, or equivalent.
* Membership of IEMA is desirable; Lead Auditor for ISO 14001 is a plus.
* Strong communication skills, assertiveness, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
* Networking skills to engage stakeholders and suppliers.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., CSRD, ESOS).
* Ability to analyze data and derive insights from Climate & ESG databases.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office; PowerBI experience is advantageous.
* Experience with Property & Operations processes and driving transformational change.
Eligibility to work in the UK is required.
What we offer:
Competitive salary up to £55,000, annual bonus, pension scheme (up to 12%), life assurance, 28 days leave plus bank holidays, and flexible leave options.
