This is a key position within Transformation and Operations where you will be working with stakeholders across the firm, including Directors and Partners to embed a culture of high-quality, user-centred transformation. The Senior Portfolio Manager will drive the maturity of the firm’s delivery of transformation, and overseeing the project delivery teams, currently made up of Project Managers and Business Analysts, to deliver technological, strategic and operational programmes and projects. The role will provide strategic direction, coaching and hands on support to ensure robust standards are continually met to achieve consistent high-quality delivery. The Senior Portfolio Manager will play a key role in shaping the future of operational change within the firm, with autonomy to influence how we deliver and build a high-performing team. Key Responsibilities Quickly build the necessary trust, credibility and relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Set clear performance expectations for all project delivery teams, creating a high-performing, collaborative culture. Work in partnership with the Senior Change Manager to deliver the change management strategy and approach, aligned to the firm’s strategy and transformation roadmap. Collaborate with the Senior PMO Manager to manage resource allocation across the portfolio, change requests to in-flight activity and ensure projects have continued alignment to the firm’s strategy. Ensure cohesion within the team demonstrated by consistent high-quality delivery, business readiness and alignment to the required governance, processes and standards. Provide guidance on business case creation, ensuring clear scope from the outset, strategic alignment and measurable benefits. Identify and mitigate portfolio level risks and issues, by working closely with the team to spot emerging themes and solutions. Overseeing delivery for the full programme lifecycle, which will include team representation onsite at one of our UK offices during critical phases. Implementation of tools and techniques to encourage, reinforce and measure desired behaviours. Be a model for high quality project delivery standards across the firm, develop, lead and implement processes, governance and documents in line with the firm’s Operational Change Playbook. Act as a trusted advisor to, and at times deputising for, the Head of Transformation and Operations, contributing to departmental planning and portfolio evolution. Skills and Experience Proven experience in successfully leading complex change programmes both personally and via your team. Strong ability in managing and developing teams to become high performers. Strong experience in business change management and ensuring operational readiness. Developing and managing change, resource, risk and issue management and benefit realisation processes. Analytical skills to enable managing multiple priorities, and problem solving to achieve high-quality outputs. Strong influencing and dynamic interpersonal skills. Ability to be comfortable with ambiguity and able to challenge the status quo confidently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences. Demonstrable understanding and awareness of different organisational change and process improvement models and approaches.
