The IT Solution Consultant is a senior, hands-on engineering role with a strong customer-facing focus, combining advanced technical support with solution architecture and delivery.
You'll collaborate closely with our Business Development team to provide advanced technical pre-sales support and create bespoke and tailored solutions that meet our clients' unique needs. Building strong relationships with key stakeholders will be essential as you work to ensure outstanding project outcomes and offer support and guidance to colleagues navigating day-to-day technical challenges.
What you’ll be doing:
* Taking prime responsibility for managing and maintaining Infrastructure Technologies, including:
* End User Computing
* Identity & Access Management (AD, Entra ID)
* Regularly providing training on these systems as part of the ongoing training program
* Acting as an escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents and issues
* Monitoring and maintaining the health and performance of servers, storage, and connected infrastructure
* Implementing hardening standards and security controls across infrastructure
* Working with technical architects and engineers to translate architectural designs into products and services
* Advising on relevant new technologies and systems for existing and potential clients
* Leading discussions, projects and technical work for assigned areas/clients, including development, maintenance, and issue resolution. Ensuring documentation and process creation are completed to a high standard
* Collaborating with the wider business on new projects
* Delivering medium to large projects for new and existing clients
* Assisting or directly planning, designing, discussing, and then building and testing technical solutions for clients
* Providing technical pre-sales support and advanced solution design for complex requirements
Our ideal candidate will have:
* Extensive experience in IT projects, solution delivery, and IT support with strong troubleshooting skills
* Proven experience in stakeholder management and strong relationship building skills
* Advanced knowledge of systems, networks, and IT delivery with significant 3rd line experience
* Experience in setting up and supporting Windows Server environments, Microsoft 365, and related technologies. This includes domain setup, Group Policy, Intune, networking, IP-based phone systems, and security solutions like antivirus and EDR
* Strong problem-solving skills with the innate ability to identify gaps in solutions and processes and proactively provide a solution
* Experience in addressing individual incidents and coordinating broader problem resolutions
* The ability to produce precise and high-calibre architectural and design documentation
* Proven ability in leading and delivering projects and managing stakeholder expectations
* Experience working within ITIL-based service environments
* Strong understanding of IT security best practice
* Previous experience of being an effective communicator to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Experience in delivering large IT projects at scale is desirable
* The ability to stay up to date with new technologies and emerging trends
* Any certifications in Microsoft products or networking are a plus!
