About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Lead Developer to join our established Digital Platforms & Software Engineering team.
This role will take ownership of our integration platform, external websites, and internal web applications, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and fit for purpose. You'll work closely with stakeholders to design, build, and maintain modern solutions using a wide range of languages and technologies, including:
* C#, HTML, CSS, SCSS, React, JavaScript, TypeScript
* .NET Framework / .NET Core
* Infrastructure and services within Microsoft Azure
* Backend APIs built with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Azure SQL, and other Azure services
The role provides a broad responsibility and autonomy to develop and deliver critical results, while also shaping the way applications, APIs, and platforms are designed and maintained. As Lead Developer, you'll provide technical direction, mentor a team of developers, and play a key role in defining our technical strategy while remaining hands-on in delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor, and support an established team of developers
* Take ownership of the technical aspects of 3rd-party vendors used across company websites, integrations, and applications
* Manage and scope new development requests, producing technical specifications and assigning work to developers
* Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to design and evolve the group integration platform housing applications and APIs used across the organisation
* Support and continuously improve the newly migrated Azure-based integration platform, including Azure Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, Service Bus, Azure SQL, and other related services
* Manage Azure DevOps boards, creating and assigning tasks to team members
* Oversee source code management, repositories, and code reviews to maintain quality and consistency
* Take the lead on coordinating releases and ensuring smooth deployments
* Ensuring cost effective applications are deployed into various Azure services
Skills & Experience
Essential:
* Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with .NET Framework / .NET Core
* Proven track record leading a team of developers
* Solid experience with Microsoft Azure services, especially Azure Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, Service Bus, and Azure SQL
* Expertise in developing, supporting, and monitoring APIs
* Proficiency in C#, HTML, CSS, SCSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React
* Experience working with an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)
* Proficiency with IDE's such as Visual Studio / Visual Studio Code
Desirable:
* Exposure to cloud-first transformation programmes
* Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies
* Expert knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices
