Role Overview
The Perfusion Department at Castle Hill Hospital is pleased to announce an opening for a dedicated and experienced Clinical Perfusion Scientist who will participate in all aspects of service delivery. We seek a candidate with enthusiasm and expertise in clinical perfusion.
Castle Hill Hospital, part of the Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH), provides comprehensive cardiothoracic facilities with approximately 700 cardiac and 700 diagnostic and major thoracic procedures performed annually.
Responsibilities
* Provide Clinical Perfusion and specialist services as part of a team and must be fully registered with the College of Clinical Perfusion Scientists GB&I.
* Perform a range of highly specialist perfusion science activities related to cardiopulmonary bypass, including technical and scientific aspects.
* Perform a wide range of complex blood coagulation assays and interpret and report results to staff including cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, nursing staff, physiologists and ODPS.
* Maintain intense concentration for extended periods during routine and specialist perfusion techniques, monitoring complex data during cardiopulmonary bypass.
* Adapt actively to dynamic clinical environment, including unpredictable workloads, emergency procedures, deadlines and critical situations.
* Fully participate in the department's on‑call rota, ensuring smooth operation of a 24‑hour service.
Qualifications
* Registered with the College of Clinical Perfusion Scientists GB&I.
* Experience in cardiopulmonary bypass and perfusion science.
* Strong knowledge of complex blood coagulation assays and data interpretation.
* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and under high-pressure situations.
