We're looking for a Buyer to join our joint venture with BAM Nuttall based at Hinkley Point C.
Location: Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required
Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us
Responsibilities
As a Buyer, you'll be working within the commercial team at Hinkley Point C, supporting the operational team with the procurement and delivery of several (Task Order) Contracts on the project.
Your day-to-day will include:
* Developing professional, robust, and effective working relationships with Suppliers, Subcontractors, and Service Providers to provide the best value to the project.
* Assisting the Procurement team with compiling tender packages for high-value critical items, including commercial tender analysis and selection using KPI scoring.
* Resolving invoice queries and liaising with other departments to ensure prompt payment of suppliers in line with payment terms.
* Being responsible and accountable for procuring plant, equipment, and nuclear-grade materials, focusing on logistics, quality, and cost within delegated authorities.
* Leading weekly meetings to collate live hire Plant reports, coordinating and maintaining weekly costs of all plant on-site across Task Order Contracts.
* Promoting Social Value through the supply chain and reporting spend on SMEs with the local supply chain.
What are we looking for?
This role of Buyer is ideal if:
* You understand the NEC suite of contracts, including Target Costs.
* You have demonstrable experience in procurement supporting large nuclear construction projects.
* You possess excellent communication and negotiation skills and can work effectively as part of a team.
* You have experience using ERP systems, including COINS, and Microsoft applications.
