Person Specification
Knowledge, Skills, and Training
* Post-graduate doctorate in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996), accredited by the BPS or HCPC.
* Doctoral-level knowledge of research design and methodology, including complex multivariate data analysis within clinical psychology.
* Experience of clinical supervision for trainee and assistant clinical psychologists.
* Knowledge of legislation, white papers, and their implications for clinical practice and professional management concerning older adults and adults with Learning Disabilities.
* Membership of HCPC.
Job Specific Experience
* Clinical experience with adults diagnosed with Learning Disabilities, especially in community settings.
* Experience in assessment and formulation in adults with LD.
* Formal training and experience in at least two psychological therapies.
* Experience in completing specialist assessments such as capacity and dementia assessments.
* Knowledge of neuropsychological testing.
Information Technology
* Proficiency in using computers and the Internet for word processing, electronic notes, spreadsheets, presentations, teaching, and information seeking.
Additional Requirements
* Ability to travel using own vehicle on Trust business, subject to the provisions of the Equality Act.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development as required by BPS and HCPC, and ability to work independently.
* Excellent written and spoken English skills to perform all duties effectively.
* Own a car, as the role involves traveling around rural West Dorset to visit clients at their homes and day centers.
