Full Time, Permanent | Continental Shift Pattern
Our client is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. They are seeking a Critical Services Shift Technician with an electrical bias, to join their team in London, supporting a major refurbishment project at Shoe Lane. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a critical phase in the project, contributing to commissioning and building mobilization.
Key Responsibilities of a Critical Services Shift Technician:

Ensure Health & Safety and Permit to Work (PTW) systems are correctly administered.
*
Maintain all building electrical systems and components in excellent working order.
*
Conduct routine checks, tests, and record-keeping using traditional methods and predictive maintenance tools.
*
Maintain water systems in accordance with L8 legislation alongside the designated Water Treatment Engineer.
*
Conduct regular site inspections of plant rooms and customer areas, identifying and rectifying defects.
*
Liaise with and manage sub-contractors effectively.
*
Monitor and adjust environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, space) via the Integrated Facilities Network (IFN).
*
Identify and implement solutions to improve building, plant, and system energy efficiency.
*
Manage defects through the customer reporting system, ensuring timely resolution within SLA.
*
Provide out-of-hours emergency call-out support on a rota basis.
*
Maintain accurate records and certification using the client’s Log Book System.
*
Undertake initial Monday–Friday work for site familiarization, training, and induction before transitioning to shift pattern.
Requirements of a Critical Services Shift Technician:
Essential:
*
Strong technical and fault-finding skills in mechanical services.
*
Educated to City & Guilds or HNC level.
*
Excellent administrative and computer skills (Microsoft Office).
*
Experience with BMS systems and business-critical services (UPS, Generators, Comms Rooms).
*
Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
*
Ability to work under own initiative and remain calm under pressure.
*
Flexible regarding working hours and continental shift patterns.
Desirable:
*
Mechanical installation apprenticeship or equivalent.
*
Knowledge of 18th Edition IEE regs and HV training.
*
Report writing and procedure documentation experience.
