Shift pattern is 8:45am-5pm Monday to Thursday with an early finish to be mutually agreed with the Admin Manager to keep within the hours of 29.7 per week.
The Diagnostics Directorate is looking for a part time Secretary (4 days per week) for the North East Sector, Imaging Department.
The post will be based within the Glasgow Royal Infirmary but there may be occasional travel to the Glasgow Dental Hospital and Stobhill as required.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide a comprehensive, confidential, efficient, high quality and timely secretarial and administrative service to Radiology Consultants, SpR, radiographic, management and nursing staff within the North East Diagnostic Imaging.
Responsibilities
* Processing and recording all types of leave & updating SSTS.
* Compiling consultant and departmental rotas and updating CRIS diaries to allow booking of Interventional in‑patient appointments.
* Providing admin support for multiple MDTs which includes creating custom worklists on PACS, printing patient reports and recording outcomes on CRIS.
* Managing diaries, arranging meetings, providing minute support and rotational cover within all areas of the department as required.
* The post holder will operate with a high degree of autonomy managing their own workload and re‑prioritising their workload when necessary to accommodate urgent and ad‑hoc requests.
Essential Qualifications
* HNC/SVQIII in Secretarial Studies/Business Administration or equivalent experience.
* Relevant experience in an NHS or healthcare administrative role.
* Advanced keyboard skills.
* Good organisational and communication skills, including the ability to prioritise and work under pressure to tight timescales.
* Flexible approach and an understanding of the principles of good teamwork.
* Ability to work proactively on own initiative, flexibly and independently.
Desirable
* Basic knowledge and understanding of medical terminology required at entry which will develop through training & experience to a specialist level.
* Knowledge and understanding of working procedures and regulations related to Imaging acquired through experience.
* Highly developed IT skills including the use of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams, CRIS, TrakCare, Clinical Portal and PACS.
