Join our team to help monitor the four reservoirs that supply water to the Macclesfield and Peak Forest Canals. These are Toddbrook, Combs, Bosley, and Sutton.
In this role, you will assist in undertaking these inspections by monitoring water levels, reporting defects, observing any changes, and responding appropriately. You will need an eye for detail and a willingness to be trained in both the theoretical and practical aspects of the task. You will be required to record your inspection details using an app on your mobile phone or tablet.
You should be personable and able to develop relationships, as you will often be approached by members of the public with questions about the waterways. You may also need to engage with boating clubs, angling society members, and local residents. It’s a great way to stay active, as a full day walking around the reservoirs will boost your step count!
This role is ideal for those who enjoy working outdoors and are looking for a different kind of activity to support the Canal & River Trust. The key qualities we’re seeking are enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
