Overview
As an Assistant Systems Accountant within our Finance team, you'll support the financial integrity of Seasalt's systems and processes, assisting with the provision of financial data for decision-making. This is a full-time, permanent role based flexibly across our Cornwall head office locations (minimum 40% of the working week) and remotely within the UK.
Responsibilities
* Maintaining a clear overview of Seasalt's business systems and related processes, ensuring they are in line with Finance requirements.
* Providing support to financial and other audit processes in respect of business systems.
* Engaging with business systems development projects in a representative capacity, supporting with testing and development.
* Reviewing and maintaining AX 2012 / D365 Finance coding structure, configuration and maintenance and advising on systems controls.
* Advising on financial configuration of AX / D365 integration projects.
* Maintaining ongoing review of subledgers for data quality issues.
* Assisting the Finance team with additional tasks including opening/closing ledgers, journal uploads, audit and reporting processes.
* Posting transactions promptly from 3rd party systems into AX / D365, ensuring the accuracy of stock records, optimising customer experience and ensuring the business meets operational and reporting requirements.
* Providing assistance in accessing or analysing financial data, such as income reconciliation, and advising on access controls to ensure that financial data is accessed in accordance with GDPR and other constraints.
* Continually reviewing functional processes for robustness, efficiency and control, proposing improvements as appropriate.
* Supporting with the production of process maps, system design documents and data flow documents.
Qualifications
* AAT qualified or qualified by experience.
* Previous accounting experience, in business or in practice.
* A high level of general IT knowledge.
* Numerate with excellent attention to detail.
* An analytical mind.
* Rigorous, methodical and logical approach to problems.
* Organised with excellent time management.
