KS1 Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Full Time
Temporary – April 2026 until August 2026
North Tyneside
£500-550 per week (salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications)
The School and Role
Vision for Education is seeking to appoint a KS1 Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work on a full-time basis in a North Tyneside Primary School. The KS1 Higher Level Teaching Assistant appointed for the role will be working across both Year 1 and Year 2 and be able to provide a range of support to pupils (interventions, 1:1 SEND support, general classroom). This vibrant primary school creates a welcoming atmosphere and strives to give each child meaningful learning opportunities.
Requirements & Responsibilities
The desired candidate will:
1. Ideally have experience working as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant at KS1 or higher in a primary school environment or similar.
2. Hold a L3 qualification in Childhood Studies or equivalent.
3. Deliver pre-planned lessons and providing classroom cover where needed.
4. Be expected to work on a 1-1 basis with pupils needing extra support including those with SEND needs.
5. Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
6. Have a genuine desire to want to better the education of children.
7. Be friendly, committed and driven with excellent communication skills.
