Job Title: Qualified Social Worker – Barnsley – Adult’s Locality Team
Location: Barnsley
Rate: £35 per hour
An exciting job role has recently become available in Barnsley. They are looking for a new member for their Adult’s Locality Team.
What will your responsibilities be?
You will take personal responsibility for continuing professional development and maintaining performance levels. You will manage your time effectively and respond flexibly to service needs. Working within an adult locality team, you will work with individuals, families, carers, and communities to enable them to make informed decisions and promote independence, while working in a strengths-based approach. You will be expected to produce high-quality assessments, collaborate with various agencies, and interpret case law and legislation. Undertaking assessments under the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and investigations for Safeguarding Adults are essential. Managing complex casework, including best interests and self-neglect/hoarding, is desirable. Additionally, you will provide support and cover for the Team Manager and/or Principal Manager. Actively participating in the performance management system, including supervision, PAR, team meetings, and service reviews, will be part of your role. You will follow departmental health and safety procedures and develop skills through work experience in various divisional situations, such as secondments, job rotation, and shadowing. Contributing to information management processes and supporting social work students on placement under the direction of the Principal or Practice Manager, acting as a workplace supervisor or Practice Teacher if appropriately trained, will also be expected. You need to understand and integrate into practice the key policies of the council in relation to social care with adults, especially multi-disciplinary working, integration, and whole family approaches.

Qualifications and Experiences:
To be successful in this role, you must have Social Work England registration, be eligible to work in the UK, hold a full UK driving licence, and have post-qualified experience. A degree level or equivalent qualification in Social Work is also required.
